I am passionate about helping people to live their life with less stress. Empowering them to find ways to reduce their stress and anxiety levels is what I love doing.
Over the past 15 years whilst working as a complementary therapist I have worked with hundreds of people from different walks of life and the main thing they have in common are high levels of stress, anxiety or worry. After their first treatment session, many people report having:-
- better sleep
- more focus and mental clarity
- feelings of calmness and being more in control
- a reduction in their physical aches and pains
- a reduction in their stress, anxiety or worry levels.
By working with me over a series of treatment sessions, many people have been able to successfully reduce their stress, worry and anxiety levels.
Many women find it hard to put themselves first. When they feel stressed, anxious or worried, they don’t appreciate that by putting themselves on their to-do list and making some simple changes to their lifestyle habits, their health would improve. I recently had a client just like this, Maxine.
Maxine’s Story
Maxine used Google to find a reiki treatment near where she lives. She didn’t know much about Reiki but had heard it was a relaxing treatment for the mind and body. She found my website and liked that I had experience of using Reiki to support people with stress-related conditions and I had also used Reiki in care settings.
Her Consultation
At her consultation, Maxine explained that after over 40 years in the care profession she was ready to retire. She loved her work and caring for others but she felt that as retirement got nearer, she was starting to feel anxious and guilty about it. Because of her years of experience, she was being asked to return part-time to cover a few shifts. She didn’t want to let anyone down but she also wanted to look forward to having some time to herself without feeling guilty.
After a full consultation, I explained that it wasn’t uncommon for her to feel anxious about her future. Retirement is a major life-changing event and as such can be a very stressful time. Feeling stress or anxiety can cause you to have physical and/or emotional conditions such as:-
- skin rashes
- upset stomach
- aches and pains
- increased blood pressure
- difficulty sleeping.
Some of which Maxine was experiencing. A Reiki treatment was agreed, as this treatment would help her to relax mentally and physically. The session would also allow her time to refocus and calm her thoughts.
Her Results
After the first treatment, Maxine felt relaxed and calm and decided to book another two treatments over the following four weeks. Maxine felt more treatment sessions would help her to feel mentally calmer, relaxed and more positive about her future. They would also give her the opportunity to take time out and relax physically and focus on doing something that was just for her.
During her sessions with me, as well as having her reiki treatments we discussed what things she could do outside the sessions that would help her to feel less anxious. By having regular Reiki treatments twice a month, combined with additional activities outside her treatment sessions, Maxine started to feel like her old self again and started to enjoy her retirement. After three months of reiki and some reflexology treatments, Maxine moved on to having monthly treatments and still continues to book in regularly for some well-earned time to herself. It allows her to rest and recharge and she feels more positive and healthier as a result of taking time out for some self-care.
Treatment Course
Following my experiences working with clients like Maxine and requests I received from other clients, I designed my courses of treatments.
These courses provide treatments as part of a structured programme. During your course, I help you to identify how your stress, worry or anxiety is affecting you physically and emotionally. Then with treatments and advice on lifestyle changes, I help you to manage, reduce and maintain these changes for a calmer, in control and more focused you!
