Private Meditation Sessions

All over the world for 1,000s of years, people have been meditating.

Our mind is a wonderful thing. It allows us to have an average of 70,000 thoughts a day which include thoughts that help us to analyse, plan, judge, learn and create. Within this vast number of thoughts, negative thoughts are also present. Too many negative thoughts can lead to feelings of being overwhelmed, self-doubt, and reduced self-confidence which can sometimes lead to physical and emotional distress and mental distress or anxiety.

Meditation is a great way to quiet and slow down our inner mind chatter and encourage feelings of calmness, peace and serenity. When we feel mentally calmer, feelings of self-belief and self-worth can grow.

What happens when you meditate

Clinical studies into the benefits of meditation show that it can help to: –

  • Reduce migraines and physical discomfortprivate meditation sessions | Complete Harmony | Sharon Taylor
  • Lower your heart rate and blood pressure
  • Reduce panic attacks and anxiety
  • Improve sleep patterns
  • Reduce levels of stress hormones
  • Improve circulation
  • Manage stress-related conditions

Although meditation has no religious connections, many of the world’s major religions (Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism and Christianity) use meditation as part of their quest to enhance spirituality. Meditation has also been shown to help: –

  1. Calm the mind
  2. Increase feelings of gratitude, love and compassion
  3. Increase mental focus and clarity.

When you know how to meditate you can do it anywhere and at any time that suits you. It’s a great, quick way of taking time out to relax and recharge as part of your self-care routine.

Alone or with others?

When you’ve decided that you will try meditation you can choose to do it on your own or with others. There are benefits and limitations with both so look at which will work best for you.

Alone – Meditating on your own allows you to choose a time and place that suits your individual needs. There are many meditation apps, online recordings,  CDs etc. that you can use to practice meditating on your own. It can however feel very isolating especially if you’re a beginner.

In a group – If you are new to meditating or you enjoy meditating with others then a meditation group may suit you. There are many groups available catering for all levels from beginners to more experienced meditators. Check what’s on in your local area that suits your lifestyle and your budget.

Group Meditation

Group leaders of yoga, keep fit and dance classes etc. are now providing meditation sessions for their members. They are including meditation as a regular monthly or bi-monthly activity as an added benefit to the services they are already offering. They also include meditation sessions as part of their open days or workshops.

The meditation sessions I provide to these groups are available to you too. All you need is a quiet space in your home. You could even invite some friends to join you.

Your Private Meditation Circle

If you like the idea of group meditation and you want to experience the benefits of meditating in a group, but you don’t want to (or don’t have the time to) go to a group session, then I can come to you!

I will provide you with private meditation sessions on a day, at a time and at a venue that suits you. I can come to you for regular sessions or for a one-off event. Arriving with equipment to help create a relaxing atmosphere, I will deliver a meditation session lasting up to 90 minutes which will be tailored to the needs of you and your group. All you need to provide is a suitable room.

Meditating in a group provides benefits that are not experienced when you meditate alone. These include: –

  • Creating a community environment
  • The opportunity to learn from and get support from others in the group
  • Experiencing the increase in vibrational energy that is created during group meditation
  • The opportunity to share your meditation experience with like-minded people
  • Having the session tailored to your needs
  • Access to a variety of meditation techniques from the group leader.

If you would like to know more about how I can tailor a private meditation session for you or for your organisation get in touch and let’s have a chat.
